Constipation is usually not serious and is when bowel movements are difficult or happen less frequently. They are quite common and most people will experience them in their lifetime. But in cases of chronic constipation, excessive straining and sitting can lead to complications such as haemorrhoids.
Haemorrhoids are inflamed veins in the rectum and anus, they can be internal or external and can cause severe pain and discomfort.

To help with this it is recommended to increase fibre in the diet, drink plenty of water and maybe even take medication such as suppositories. These methods though beneficial are not the best and each has drawbacks.
Reason behind symptoms
Fibre is an essential part of a healthy diet and lifestyle and plays a key role in managing a healthy gut and digestive tract. It helps support the gut’s bacterial environment and aids digestion. One of the main causes of constipation is a low fibre diet. This leads to smaller and harder stools which are more difficult to pass therefore increasing straining, which can cause haemorrhoids.
High fibre diets
A diet with higher fibre content is recommended for those struggling with constipation. On one hand, it is a good and reliable method to stave away, prevent and ease constipation. On the other hand, the problem is, those going through constipation are hesitant to eat and each much less thus taking in less fibre. Also, some people may not be able to manage a specific diet plan and therefore get constipation regularly and therefore haemorrhoids.
